The Opportunity
The York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority is seeking to appoint a Data Analyst.
This is an exciting time to join the Combined Authority, as the organisation is growing and strengthening its data and evidence capabilities. Within this role, you would have an opportunity to shape and influence the processes and platforms that are used, as well as leading on a strategy for Economic Data and set out how we will communicate with disseminate data, alongside ensuring quality assurance processes are in place. This is a critical role within the Strategy and Policy team to ensure that strategy development and decision-making is truly led by robust evidence and delivering on the needs of the region. You will be responsible for managing key stakeholder relationships, including engagement with the region’s two Local Authorities, working with our universities and government departments such as ONS Local.
Requirements:
- In depth knowledge of key economic data sets, such as those produced by the Office for National Statistics and government departments.
- Good knowledge of how to access and manipulate data using a variety of technologies.
- Experience in quality assurance processes to ensure data is accurate and robust.
- A demonstrable knowledge of the principles of effective information management and experience of applying principles.
- Experience of analysing and interpreting complex data and ability to translate evidence into policy decisions.
- Strong communication capabilities, both written and verbal, and ability to convey complex data in an easily accessible manner to non-technical stakeholders.
- Educated to Degree level or equivalent in a discipline with a strong focus on data analysis, statistics, or economics, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
