Role Overview

As a Business Development Representative (BDR), your primary mission will be cold calling and outbound prospecting. Day in and day out, you’ll be reaching out to potential clients across various industries, including consumer goods, beauty, wellness, health, automotive, and more. This is a senior-level, phone-heavy position ideal for someone with 2-3 years of B2B sales experience who thrives on cold outreach, loves the challenge of breaking through gatekeepers, and is motivated by booking high-quality meetings for the sales team.

You will be responsible for high-volume cold calling, navigating gatekeepers, and engaging key decision-makers to set qualified appointments and move prospects through the sales pipeline.

Location: Fully-Remote (Work from Home), 9 AM – 5 PM EST

Responsibilities:

High-Volume Cold Calling & Outbound Prospecting

  • Conduct 80-100+ cold calls daily to decision-makers in various industries (including CPG, e-commerce, and retail).
  • Overcome objections and navigate gatekeepers to reach key decision-makers, such as CEOs, founders, and senior marketing executives.
  • Engage potential clients through consultative phone conversations, positioning the company’s services as a true business partner.
  • Build and manage strategic calling lists, conducting research to target high-value prospects effectively.

Appointment Setting & Pipeline Management

  • Set qualified appointments with key decision-makers, ensuring that prospects are properly warmed up and ready for further sales conversations.
  • Manage meeting logistics, including minimising cancellations and no-shows through follow-up calls and confirmations.
  • Track all interactions and lead statuses using CRM tools to ensure organised follow-ups and consistent engagement.
  • Meet daily activity benchmarks such as call volume, connecting rates, and meetings booked, maintaining consistency and focus.

Objection Handling & Relationship Building

  • Master common objections and develop rebuttals to effectively move prospects through the pipeline.
  • Build rapport quickly over the phone, ensuring prospects feel understood and engaged during calls.
  • Identify pain points and qualify prospects through targeted conversations to ensure a good fit for the company’s solutions.
  • Handle rejection professionally, maintaining momentum throughout the day.

Collaboration & Process Improvement

  • Work closely with the sales team to ensure smooth handoffs of qualified leads and high-quality appointments.
  • Contribute to refining sales scripts and objection handling based on real-time feedback and experiences.
  • Regularly report on calling metrics, lead progress, and pipeline feedback, offering insights to improve outreach effectiveness.


Qualifications/Requirements:

Cold Calling Excellence

  • 2-3 years of B2B sales experience with a focus on high-volume cold calling (75+ calls per day minimum).
  • Proven success in outbound prospecting and overcoming objections to set appointments with decision-makers.
  • Strong ability to navigate gatekeepers and engage C-suite executives in consultative phone conversations.
  • Ability to bounce back from rejection and continue with enthusiasm and perseverance.

Communication & Phone Skills

  • Exceptional phone presence with a clear, confident, and professional speaking voice.
  • Fluent English speaker with excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable presenting complex value propositions in simple, engaging terms, and handling objections directly.
  • Strong listening skills to identify prospect needs, pain points, and readiness to move forward.

Technical Proficiencies

  • Experience with tools like Slack, Gmail, and OpenPhone.
  • Basic research skills to prepare for calls and gather intelligence on prospects.

Nice-To-Haves (Bonus Points)

  • Previous experience in eCommerce, brand partnerships, or working with consumer goods (CPG) companies is a plus.
  • Knowledge of retail strategy, brand growth, and channel conflict.
  • Proven success with agency, distributor, or SaaS sales models.
  • Experience selling to senior decision-makers in industries such as health, wellness, beauty, or automotive.
  • Familiarity with tools like Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and Hunter.io is a plus.
